Lds-100K-EM Diesel locomotive for underground applications is designed for transport activities in underground workings of copper ore mines.
A low-toxicity, compression-ignition with turbo-forced induction engine, made by Cummins, equipped with an inlet-outlet system with a catalyst and a rarefier of exhaust gas is installed in the locomotive drive system. This engine, via a hydrokinetic gear and reversion gear of SB 102 type, drives the front and back intersecting axis gears. Main shafts of these gears are simultaneously axles of wheel sets..
Lds-100K-EM locomotive is equipped with an operational brake with a hydraulic drive and hydraulically released emergency and parking brake. Control of engine rotations, of brakes, trip direction and switching on of sanders is performed electrohydraulically. The engine start-up is executed electrically. The locomotive has two control panels of equivalent positioning of control equipment. It is equipped with self-acting fire extinguishing installation. Optionally it can be equipped with an electronic system, supervising operational parameters (with their recording).
